PIER EMERGENCY STATIONS

We would like to remind all Marina users of the pier emergency stations. Attached to the bridges of each pier is a canvas bag with an air horn and rescue tube inside. Halfway down each pier is a transportable ladder and a life-ring. If someone is to fall in the water, and requires assistance, you should immediately pass them an emergency flotation device then sound the airhorn. You can also use the airhorn to alert of any other emergency - fire, medical, crime etc.

If you hear the airhorn, please go and see who needs help and alert the Manager on 027 2330111 or dial 111.

Below is a step by step process of how to correctly use the rescue tube.

The emergency sirens that were installed on each pier have been removed. the airhorns should be used to attract attention.

Biosecurity inspections

On Tuesday November 25th, Boffa Miskell biosecurity have organised to conduct hull inspections throughout the Marina. There will be a team of freedivers inspecting stationary vessels and a topside support crew member. Each inspection should only take 5 minutes and the team plans to be here from 8am to 4pm.

Protecting our marine environment is hugely important and every vessel owner is responsible for ensuring they are keeping up with best practices.

For current ‘Top of the South’ biosecurity rules, please visit Marine Biosecurity Rules.

Cardboard recycling

You can now recycle your CLEAN AND FLATTENED CARDBOARD in the Marina facilities. We have included one large cardboard recycling cage in the central waste/recycling bay opposite D pier. All cardboard must be completely flattened and clean or it will not be collected, and the bin will disappear. Over the Marina’s busy period in summer, the waste bins have been known to become overfilled - we are hoping this will help to mitigate that problem while also doing the right thing for our environment.
